Golgappa/Panipuri Banned in Kathmandu Valley (Nepal): Why the Nepal Govt took such a Big step.

SHOCKING- The sale of Panipuri has been banned in Nepal’s Kathmandu due to rising cholera cases in Lalitpur Metropolitan City ( LMC). The authorities in LMC on Saturday decided to stop the sale and distribution of Panipuri the metropolis. Because the cholera bacteria have been found in the water of Panipuri.

According to Nepal’s Ministry of Health and population, seven more people have tested positive for cholera in the Kathmandu valley. Chumanlal Dash, director at Epidemiology and Diseases Control Division under the Health Ministry informed that out of seven, five cases have been identified in Kathmandu Metropolis and one in chandragiri muncipality and Budhanikantha municipality.

Now the total number of cholera patients has gone up to 12. Earlier five cases were found in the different part of capital and other 2 have already been treated and discharged. The treatment of infected patients is going on at Sukarraj Tropical and infectious diseases Hospital,Teku.

The ministry has requested everyone to be alert,on the other hand ,according to city police chief Sitaram Hachethu ,internal preparations have been made to stop the sale of panipuri in crowded areas and corridor areas in the city.
