A Mumbai court has rejected the pre-arrest bail plea by Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra in connection with a 2020 case being probed by the cyber crime branch.

In 2020, the cyber crime branch had registered an FIR against 14 OTT platform and web portals for obscene content based on a complaint of a retired customs offcial.

Now, in a separate case being probed by the Mumbai crime branch in connection with the porn videos racket, Kundra’s ball plea will be heard on August 20.

Raj Kundra may influence witnesses

The Mumbai crime branch has opposed his bail plea and said if Raj Kundra and the IT head of his company Ryan Thorpe are released on bail, the women and victims who are coming forward to give evidence sine the registration of the case, may refuse to do so out of fear from the accused.

In a 10-page affidavit, the Mumbai police said since the registration of the FIR, several affected women and victims approached the police with their grievances.
