CoronaVirus cases had seen a sharp decline during the beginning of this year. But in a turn of events the Covid-19 cases are rising sharply in the country,especially in some particular states. After reporting 22,854 cases on 11th March , the number of new cases has increased to 23,285 in the past 24 hours. This is the largest number of cases that has been reported on a single day in this year.
But what is seen as a worrying trend is that a large cluster of cases has been reported from 3-4 states. Maharashtra tops this list with 14000 cases being reported in the past 24 hours. Due to this lockdown was imposed in the Nagpur city earlier. Now again CM Udhav Thackeray has imposed lockdown in another district,Parbhani.
Maharashtra has more than half of the total active cases in the country. According to data, the total active cases in Maharashtra is 1,07,303.The cases are on rise even if vaccination drive is going on all over the country. This is due to the relaxations that have been granted and negligence . It is advisable to keep using masks and hand sanitizer till every single person gets vaccinated .
